Yellowstone Epic Vacation - Day One

Our vacation to Yellowstone National Park began with a verrrryyyyy long drive.  2 eight hour days with a one year old was a little tough, but Cole was a trooper and hardly fussed at all.

Of course, it helps when you can take naps:
When we arrived at our hotel, Cole declared himself the welcoming committee and positioned himself on our balcony to wave to everyone in the parking lot.

 Our view:
On Monday, we decided to start our week off with a bang by going zip-lining! I've ALWAYS wanted to go zip-lining and it totally lived up to my expectations!

Right before we left:

There's no turning back now! Our nephew JJ was just as excited as we were!

 Waiting for our turn:
We did it!
Many thanks to Grammy for taking care of Cole while the rest of the family risked our lives by jumping off 50 foot platforms!

When we came back to the hotel, we thought we'd check out downtown West Yellowstone.  Nothing sexier than a man pushing a stroller!

Scattered throughout the town are tons of these enormous bison statues, all painted by different local artists.  Cole insisted on being photographed next to this one:
There was also a life-size bear statue (which made me just a leetle bit less excited to see a bear in the park):

Cole wasn't too sure what to think of the bear:

And thus concluded Day One!
