1. Worry less. Be more spontaneous. Make time to do my hobbies. 2. Take Cole to the library, the park, the museum, on walks as often as possible. 3. Have a baby-free date night with the hubby at least once a month. 4. Remember to write 2011 on my checks BEFORE July comes around (for some reason, this is a resolution I have every year and somehow I can never keep it. It seriously takes me at least 6 months to get the new year straight when writing the date).
How about you? What are some of your New Year's Resolutions?
I don't know about any of you, but we have a family calendar that hangs on the wall. My life seriously revolves around this calendar. EVERYTHING I would EVER need to remember is on the calendar. If it somehow disappeared, I think I would probably find myself unable to function.
Anyway, one of my favorite year-end things to do is to look at the past year's calendar and remember each little written event.
Like the ultrasound appointment when we discovered it was Cole kicking around in there:
Or the crazy month of April with baby showers, birthing classes, and other baby preparations galore:
And of course, Cole's due date:
And when Cole actually decided to finally come out:
And Chris' college graduation:
What a year! I love thinking back to our expectations and hopes for the new year - how so many things did not turn out quite as planned, but ended up so much better!
I cannot wait to see what fantastic things happen in 2011!
There are very few things I would change about my childhood - but one of those is our proximity to family, especially grandparents. I always regretted not being able to see my grandparents as often as my other cousins could and Chris and I always promised each other we would do the best we could to have grandparents be a big part of our children's lives. So, of course, we are loving having Cole's Gram and Pap come visit for Christmas:
